Navigating the Turning Points of Life
A Weekend for Women, Oct 16 - 18, 2026
With Gisele St. Hilaire and Irene Ascough
Sometimes we choose the shift. Sometimes it chooses us.
There are times in our lives when familiar ways of living—or understanding ourselves—no longer fit quite as they once did.
Sometimes we choose the shift. Sometimes it chooses us.
A role we have inhabited begins to fall away. A relationship changes. Our body asks something different of us. We encounter a loss, a beginning or a question that cannot be answered in quite the same way anymore.
Not every transition is a crisis. But even a welcome one can ask us to reorient—to listen differently, find our footing and discover what might now be possible.
My friend Irene and I are creating an intimate, experiential weekend for women who recognize something of themselves in this territory—whenever and however it has arrived in their lives.
Irene brings deep listening, reflection and attention to the questions that arise at life’s turning points; I bring movement, awareness and embodied learning. This weekend grows from our curiosity about what becomes possible when these ways of working meet.
Through movement, presence, reflection and shared inquiry, we’ll explore how we might meet life’s turning points with greater freedom, self-trust and room to move.
The weekend will take place October 16–18, 2026—Friday evening through Sunday afternoon—at Light of the Prairies Retreat Centre, just outside Winnipeg. Participation will be limited to approximately 15 women.
We’re still shaping the complete details, but the priority interest list is now open.
Those on the list will receive the full details first, along with early access to registration and introductory pricing.
If you recognized something of yourself as you read this, I’d love to invite you to join the list.
Joining the list does not register you or commit you to attending. It simply means you’ll be among the first to hear more.

“Gisele is an extraordinary teacher. She has that rare combination of a background in science and a total openness to the mystery of attention. In her classes, she embodies all the best of Feldenkrais’ teaching, the curiosity, the enthusiasm, the quiet confidence that we have no limits.”
~Cheryl Smith PhD, Kelowna Feldenkrais Trainee
“A beginner’s mind, joyful curiosity, compassion, and clarity are but a few key elements that Gisele brings to her teaching of the Feldenkrais Method. A humanist at heart, she combines her years of experience and deep consideration of Feldenkrais’s teachings with her love of anatomy to convey this Method in a supportive learning environment, encouraging students to experience the relevance of all their explorations beyond awareness of their movement on the floor.”
~Carol Magee, Kelowna Feldenkrais Trainee
“Gisele’s deep inquiry into her own practice of the Feldenkrais Method and openness to exploring ways of more deeply understanding what we do opens new possibilities and perspectives for us all in our learning journeys. Your curiosity will be brought to the fore!"
